POLICE ARREST EIGHT SUSPECTED ABDUCTORS OF CHIBOK SCHOOLGIRLS IN BORNO

**On  April 14th 2014, 276 schoolgirls were kidnapped by unknown men in Chibok, Borno State, Northern Nigeria. 

**This incidence triggered international outrage and campaign for the rescue of the schoolgirls.



Yesterday, Suspected abductors of the 276 Chibok schoolgirls and members of a Suicide bombing cartel have been paraded by the Nigerian Police in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

The police paraded 22 persons who were said to have been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General’s Intelligence Response Team (IGP’s IRT) in Borno, Adamawa and other adjoining communities.

Eight of the twenty persons paraded are suspected to have taken part in the kidnap of the 276 Chibok schoolgirls in Borno state.

The suspects are alleged to have masterminded more than 50 suicide bomb attacks within Maiduguri, the Borno state capital,  Adamawa state, and also launched several other attacks leading to the death of thousands of Nigerians.
 


So far, 112 of the girls have regained their freedom, mainly following negotiations between the Federal Government and representatives of the terrorist group.
